Who’s Who?

Meet the Legends Behind the Legend

In a world where myth walks beside man and the Earth itself sings old secrets, heroes and monsters wear many faces. This page is your guide to the characters who shape the tale of Buffalo Bill and the Veil of Shadows—from quiet warriors and sharpshooters to sinister beings warped by the Earthsong. Each week, a new figure will step into the spotlight. Some will stand for the light. Others... not so much.

Step carefully. Even legends cast long shadows.

The Good Guys

Portrait of Suni Rhodes from Buffalo Bill and the Veil of Shadows — running through the woods with a large knife, swift and determined.

  • The Quiet One

He doesn’t speak much, but when he does, the forest listens. Born of two worlds and trained in silence, Suni moves like mist through the trees, watching the Earth for signs of war. Some say he’s one of the Gifted. Others say he’s just a boy with no fear in his bones. Either way, when trouble comes whispering, it’s Suni who answers first.

Portrait of Paul Bunyan from Buffalo Bill and the Veil of Shadows — rescuing a little girl from a charging bull on a town street.
  • The Gentle Giant

Twelve feet tall. Barefoot. Kind as he is strong. Paul never asked to be a legend, he just wanted to help. But when a raging bull charged a frightened child, he stepped forward and caught it with his bare hands. Now folks aren’t sure what to call him… man, myth, or miracle. He just calls himself Paul.

Portrait of Jesse Pickett from Buffalo Bill and the Veil of Shadows — chopping wood at incredible speed, showcasing his supernatural quickness
  • Jesse Pickett – Handsome, quick-witted, and even quicker on his feet, Jesse can cover a hundred yards before most folks finish a sentence. His speed is a marvel—blinding to watch, impossible to match—but it’s not without its hazards. One wrong turn at full tilt can send him tumbling into trouble faster than the rest of the team can catch up. Flirtatious with most, but brotherly toward Annie Oakley, Jesse hides unshakable loyalty behind a grin and a wisecrack. When the moment comes, he’s a streak of motion and a sure hand, the first to arrive and the last to give up.

The Bad Guys

Portrait of Callum Grayson, evil leader of the Uraki in Buffalo Bill and the Veil of Shadows — standing menacingly in a burning study.
  • The Whispering Mind

He doesn’t need a weapon. He uses yours. Your fears, your memories, your truths, bent and broken until you can’t tell the difference between love and betrayal. Callum Grayson sees the world not as it is, but as he wishes it to be, and forces others to do the same. He’s not the monster in your closet. He’s the one behind your eyes.

Portrait of Bloody Bones, sinister Uraki lieutenant from Buffalo Bill and the Veil of Shadows — necromancer able to raise the dead for short periods.
  • The Walking Eulogy

Skin like parchment. Voice like a funeral dirge. Wherever Bloody Bones walks, the dead don’t stay quiet. He paints his face with the masks of the fallen and speaks in riddles no living man wants to solve. Don’t bother running, he’s not chasing you. He’s just here to watch what dies next.

Portrait of Mama Grin from Buffalo Bill and the Veil of Shadows — a towering, terrifying woman with a carved grin, standing in a foggy forest at night
  • Mama Grin – A towering figure wrapped in shadow, Mama Grin is known for the smile that never fades. She is said to wander the outskirts of towns at night, watching from the treeline, waiting for someone to stray too far from home. Parents still whisper the old playground rhyme, passed down through generations:

    “Mama Grin, Moma Grin,
Close the door , don’t let her in.
If she’s out there, stay inside,
She loves the ones who try to hide.”
